Make no mistake, the 650 Apex Predator sits proudly at the top of the trailerboat food chain… for a very good reason. Boasting big game boat attitude with trailerable fishing boat manners, the hard–top bluewater model from Evolution has been designed by hardcore anglers for serious offshore fishing expeditions.

The 650 Apex Predator measures 7.20m LOA and maximises every square centimetre of space throughout the 6.50m hand–laid fibreglass hull. Smooth performance in rough water is assured with a sharp deep–V bow and an impressive 21° deadrise at the transom. An expansive 2.49m of external beam and wide reverse chines ensure solid stability at rest and agile manoeuvrability when pushing bluewater boundaries offshore.

Big game fishing is at the heart of the 650 Apex Predator design with the huge 2.10m internal beam cockpit loaded with features. A full–height walk–through transom is at the heart of the cockpit work area, with an 80L live bait tank, built–in tackle boxes, deluxe fibreglass baitboard and flush opening locker doors that house a triple battery system for extra power requirements.

Cockpit fishing space is further maximised through clever storage ideas with full–length side pockets providing a home to gaffs, tag poles and nets, while the underfloor fish bin is big enough for a full day’s catch on the reef. Padded side coamings, recessed stainless steel grab rails and moulded toe holds also add a refined level of comfort to the bluewater battles.

The Targa hard–top is the centrepiece of the helm area boasting quality stainless steel struts and fittings plus the design and construction strength to double as a working tuna tower when the game hunt is on. The Targa also features a five–pot stainless steel rocket launcher, twin grab rails and enough space for extra navigational equipment, such as radar.

Evolution’s designers understand the extended nature of game fishing and have invested accordingly into the forward cabin layout. Overnight fishing trips don’t have to skimp on the creature comforts with the 650 Apex Predator featuring a roomy V–berth forward bunk with in–fills, a functional galley, porta–potti toilet and enough storage for sleeping or extra fishing gear.

Sheltered by the stunning Targa hard–top, the helm layout is enclosed by a fully–moulded glass windscreen and allows the skipper room to navigate comfortably either standing or cradled in the fully–upholstered seats. Prime dash real estate also abounds with plenty of room for flush–mounted electronics, navigation gear and gauges.

Safe access forward to the bow and anchor is through a forward cabin hatch or via the recessed walk–around deck cradled by a stainless steel bow rail. Stainless steel cleats, bow sprit, a deep anchor well and Stress–Free anchor winch make mooring and anchoring a breeze.

This Australian–built bluewater hull can accommodate a range of outboard power options ranging from 225hp to 300hp (single or twin configuration) and guarantees unrestricted offshore fishing with a massive 320L underfloor fuel tank.

From chasing marlin and sharks out to the continental shelf, or battling big Southern bluefin tuna in Bass Strait, the Evolution 650 Apex Predator is a large game boat wrapped up in an easily–handled trailer boat package that will remain uncontested at the top of the food chain for a long time to come.
